Leiston Town Council

Welcome to the Parish of Leiston-cum-Sizewell serving a population of circa 6,000 residents.  Leiston is a unique East Suffolk town to live, work, visit and enjoy.  Proud of its world-class engineering and industrial heritage, it continues to develop as the host parish for the Nationally Significant Infrastructure Sizewell C Construction Project, a new Nuclear Power Station.

It is a rural town located in the Suffolk and Essex Coast and Heaths National Landscape.  The hamlet of Sizewell boasts one of Suffolk’s best-loved beaches.

It is home to unique heritage attractions: The Long Shop Museum, celebrating the Garrett Works, one of Great Britain’s finest Victorian agricultural and steam engine production lines; Leiston Film Theatre – Suffolk’s oldest purpose-built cinema and the impressive monastic ruins of Leiston Abbey.

The Council offers many amenities for the town, and provides local services, help and support for residents, local business, organisations, and events.
