13.       Leiston-cum-Sizewell Town Council Representatives at the Planning Inspectorate Examination Hearings of SZC DCO

Reports previously circulated.  Cllr Last advised Cllr Woolf and Cllr Corbett had volunteered to represent the Town Council at the SZC Hearings and report back to the Council.  Cllr Hill also offered to be a reserve for these Hearings.  After a lengthy discussion it was proposed by Cllr Morsley, seconded by Cllr Cooper and agreed that Cllr Woolf, Cllr Corbett and Cllr Hill (as a reserve) be appointed as the Town Council representatives at the SZC Hearings.  It was also agreed that the Clerk arrange an urgent meeting with the Chairman, Mr Rayner and the representatives to put forward possible sites to visit, which would benefit from being visually seen, and verbal representations/statements to be heard at the relevant Hearings.  These need to be submitted by 12 May.  The Clerk will also summarise the Relevant Representation to 10% of the original document which must also be submitted by that date.

14.       Questions to the Chairman

Cllr Harle queried why the telephone box in the Old Post Office Square was taken away.  The Clerk confirmed the Council had requested to retain this telephone box but it was removed by BT last July and it will not be reinstated.

Cllr Harle also asked if a dog bin could be placed on High Green.  The Clerk confirmed she had already received this request and was seeking advice from ESC because it is in the conservation area and a dog bin may not be allowed.

The meeting finished at 9.21pm
