The Chairman opened the meeting welcoming Tom McGarry and Andy Mower from EDF  who then gave a short presentation on the planning application for the creation of a wetland habitat, item 3(c) on the agenda.

Cllr Harle asked how wildlife would migrate to the new habitat and Mr McGarry explained the wildlife will naturally migrate themselves as the new habitat will have the characteristics and environment these animals thrive in.  Cllr Hill queried how long the area would take to establish and Mr McGarry felt this would happen quite quickly, within 2 years hopefully.  Cllr Hill also asked if the minibuses bringing the workforce would have designated routes.  Mr McGarry advised there would be a maximum 110 workers on site at peak, including archaeologists, with approximately 10/12 vehicle movements per day using B1122.  Cllr Bailey asked where the workforce was coming from and Mr McGarry advised the labourers would be local workers using plant from Kesgrave site.  Cllr Boast queried if public access would be granted to the habitat and Mr McGarry explained the area doesn’t have a right of way but it can be viewed from the public footpath to Minsmere Sluice.  He confirmed public access would still be available at Goose Hill through Kenton Hills.  Cllr Geater asked who will manage the new area and Mr McGarry explained they have a contractor who manages the estate on behalf of EDF.

During the above item, the time reached 7.30pm. It was proposed by Cllr Hill, seconded by Cllr Boast and agreed, Standing Orders be suspended to allow the public part of the meeting to be completed.

No members of the public were in attendance to raise any questions to Council.
